Unborn babies may be harmed by BPA in food packaging

A US study has raised concerns about the use of BPA in food packaging for pregnant mothers.

Concerns have long been raised over exposing babies to BPA through food jars and bottles, but this new study says that exposure while in the womb may be even worse as the mother consumes the chemical through her diet.

The study fed pregnant mice small amounts of BPA to see what the affect would be on their offspring. As well as struggling to find their way out of a maze, the baby mice were also more anxious.
